The Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC) is a Local Representative Committee recognised under NHS regulations and represents all Pharmacy contractors within the Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley & Greenwich.

The LPC has a 14 member committee of which 8 are independent Pharmacy contractors, 4 Company Chemists Association (CCA) members and 2 Association of Independent Multiple Pharmacies (AIMp Ltd).

The LPC Strategy:

  • Bexley, Bromley & Greenwich Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC) will represent, support, lead and inspire all BBG pharmacy contractors.
  • The LPC will seek out professional and financial opportunities for all BBG contractors to provide services for all patients/clients/customers.
  • The LPC will endeavour to sustain current pharmacy services and work towards a transparent payment structure with all commissioners.
  • The LPC will set up a Forum for pharmacy contractors to exchange information, best practice, ideas and feedback to the committee. The Forums will also be used to make sure that pharmacists have the necessary skills to operate in the new NHS.

 

SUPPORT CONTRACTORS:

  • Support and secure core business
  • Ensure fair payments for services provided
  • Create opportunities for community pharmacy services
  • Enable contractors to deliver the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework
  • Prepare contractors to be ready for the future-impact of the Health & Social Act
  • Effective conduit for the exchange of essential information with BBG contractors
  • Establish regular Forum meetings for contractors to up skill Community Pharmacists and provide CPD opportunities
  • Improve quality of Community Pharmacy NHS services to provide a consistent level of service

 

PROMOTE THE VALUE OF PHARMACY:

  • Market Community Pharmacy as a cost effective NHS provider to NHS CB, BBG CCGs and BBG HWBs
  • PR campaigns to the public
  • Newsletters
  • Media campaigns
  • Involve patients to be vocal advocates of Community Pharmacy
  • Feedback to commissioners, general public and contractors the success of Community Pharmacy

 

LONG TERM CONDITIONS (LTCs):

  • Gather local data to support pharmacy LTC intervention
  • Provide pharmacist intervention to improve LTC outcomes
  • Map local providers of healthcare services
  • Ensure pharmacy is integrated into LTC pathways
  • Implement Health Living Pharmacy (HLP) concept across BBG
