BBG News
Raj Matharu, the BBG LPC Chief Officer has been elected as Chair of Pharmacy London. Pharmacy London is a collaboration of all London LPCs (except NEL) and was responsible for establishing the London Vaccination service. Raj Matharu is delighted at the election and is looking forward to working with London colleagues.
NHS Bromley CCG introduced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with regards to ordering and collection of repeat prescriptions on behalf of patients, this document has been looked at by BBG LPC and does help to provide a better framework to work with local GPs.
Pharmacy contractors are advised to audit very carefully their EPS R2 tokens, as BBG LPC is aware that contractors are reporting discrepancy between the numbers dispensed and payments made by NHS BSA. BBG LPC is advising all contractors to make a record and Raj Matharu has raised the issue with NHS England (London Region) at the last Pharmacy London meeting.
Bipin Patel (BBG LPC Chair) sits on NHS Bexley CCG’s Medicine Management Committee, Piyush Amin (BBG LPC Vice Chair) sits on NHS Bromley CCG’s Medicine Management Committee and Raj Matharu (BBG LPC CEO) sits on NHS Greenwich CCG’s Medicine Management Committee. In this way BBG LPC has engagement with all 3 CCGs in our area. Please note that the CCGs tend to engage in cost cutting exercises which means that items like SIP feeds, Baby milks and diabetic strips are being targeted. BBG LPC recommends contractors to keep minimum stocks as these items tend to be changed frequently by the CCGs.
